About us | CIA is an independent, not-for-profit college of art and design accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The College offers an intensive liberal arts education with 15 majors in fine and applied art, each leading to a bachelor of fine arts, making it one of the most comprehensive art schools in the country. CIA educates talented, passionate students ready to contribute their problem-solving skills and artistic gifts for the benefit of Northeast Ohio and beyond. CIA prepares students for their professional life through a world-class education that combines a rigorous curriculum, advanced technical training, real-world experience, and programs that promote leadership skills. Our graduates leave CIA ready to succeed as professional artists and designers. CIA alumni strengthen industry and creative and design sectors throughout the region. They become leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs who solve problems, push the boundaries of artistic mediums, build new industries, create jobs, and foster growth and vitality in our communities. The College also offers a variety of public programs to promote arts and cultural experiences that enhance the quality of life for thousands of residents of Northeast Ohio. CIA's continuing education programs and public programming include hundreds of art classes for adults and children; professional development for K-12 teachers; free public lectures by professional artists and designers; free exhibitions and gallery shows; and the Cinematheque, which shows classic, foreign, and independent films 50 weekends of the year. Through these programs, CIA provides educational and artistic opportunities for both children and adults to learn about, create, and experience art in many forms. |
