Because of COVID-19, kids are going without books. For many kids, books are a lifeline—now more than ever.
Fourth grader George loved books. As a foster child he brought all his worldly possessions to school each day in a plastic bag because he could never be sure where he’d sleep that night. George hoarded library books in his desk—his absolute favorite was the Harry Potter series. The Kids’ Book Bank was able to give his teacher the entire Harry Potter series for George—the first forever books he could keep at his forever home. He had just been adopted.
