Connected to Organization --- not set --- Opportunity Title DescriptionThe College Now Mentoring Program is proven to increase retention, persistence, and graduation of student participants. This high-quality, high-impact mentoring program uses a unique, online platform to guide communication between mentor and student through an interactive and personalized curriculum. The Mentoring Program is a minimal investment of time for mentors – two emails per month, and three meetings per year, which can be in-person OR virtual! – but has wonderful results for students! Many of College Now’s students are the first in their families to attend college, and all have demonstrated financial need. On average, 92% of mentored students returned to college for their sophomore year, and 72% of students in their pilot class graduated on-time with their degrees. This is entirely due to the added support students receive from mentors and College Now through the Mentoring Program. Over the last eight years, the College Now Mentoring Program has connected thousands of local students and volunteer mentors, all committed to the individual success of students, as well as the success of our region. We are proud to partner with Say Yes to Education by providing mentors for Say Yes scholarship recipients. Together, we can change the narrative for Cleveland and Northeast Ohio! We have begun pairing mentors and students for those graduating in the Spring of 2020, but are already thinking about next year - we'll need YOU to mentor a student graduating from high school in the Spring of 2021! To get involved in this life-changing and ground-breaking program, apply on our website at www.collegenowgc.org/become-a-mentor/. Be someone who matters to someone who matters, and mentor a college student!
