How the loss of volunteer support affects the Stepping Stones Community
At Stepping Stones, volunteer support is an integral part of the success of our programs. These wonderful individuals bring a welcoming smile, a helping hand and the gift of companionship to make days brighter for our participants. In March alone, the impact of COVID-19 has made it necessary for us to cancel more than 1,000 volunteer hours scheduled across our programs. Volunteers come from every sector – dedicated high school and college volunteers as well as area corporations, school groups, churches and adult professionals. Each of these individuals bring the important gifts of social interaction, being part of a community and a sense of belonging that are all part of personal independence and well-being. Our clients greatly miss them!
