Ways to help | Thank You Note WriterVolunteer to write thank you notes for BCWA. We provide the stationery, envelopes and stamps. You provide your written words. Contact Shandah at [email protected] for more informaion.Outdoor Field OpportunitiesOur very active field crews work on habitat restoration including invasive control, planting and seed collection. Other efforts include boardwalk and trail construction, repair, and maintenance. Volunteer crews begin field work in mid-March and run through mid-November depending on weather. Saturday crews work weekly from 9am - 12pm, and Sunday crews from 1pm - 4pm, but may change to 9am - 12pm when the weather is hot. Opportunities are offered during the week, but not on a regular schedule. We provide training and education, so everyone is welcome! To receive our weekly volunteer opportunity emails, visit beavercreekwetlands.org/volunteer, scroll down to Volunteer Sign-up and submit your name and email address.Be a BCWA AmbassadorAnyone can be an ambassador for BCWA by promoting our conservation efforts and programs to schools, businesses and the community. We will provide any literature you need. Volunteering at events and fairs such as the Midwest Native Plant Conference is another way to engage the community.Plan or Help with Events and ProgramsJoin our engagement committee to help plan upcoming events such as the annual meeting, educational walks or programs like Monarch Tagging. The committee typically meets once a month and works together to create informative, meaningful and fun events.Walks/Hikes/TalksPresent topics of your choosing and interest at a talk or on a walk through the wetlands. Topics may include wetlands, native plants, photography, birding, fitness, etc. Volunteer training booklet is provided.Student Volunteer Service HoursBCWA provides opportunities to high school students who need service hours. |
