Ways to help

Connect2Kids Individual

Connect2Kids Groups serve an invaluable role in the spiritual formation/development of current CRC residents. These groups of volunteers come to CCHO’s campus and provide lunch, a time of devotions and activities/games for our residents. Getting to experience the fellowship and care of communities of believers from around the area provides the residents with continued exposure to the unconditional love of Christ. This outreach can also build connections for relational/spiritual support for when they transition out of the CRC program. Age 25 or older.

This unique bond can serve as a vehicle for communication that empowers current residents to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential. Former Resident Speakers communicate the impact that CCHO had on their lives, share personal experiences, and encourage current residents to embrace their time at CRC.

How you help We are always in need of people eager to join with us in providing a safe and stable environment for at-risk children in need of hope, healing and unconditional love. With a 165-acre campus, four residential cottages, an equine therapy ministry, a full event schedule each year and other needs both on and off campus, CCHO offers a host of ways to get plugged into our family of ministries no matter your passions, talents and giftings.
About us Our Children’s Residential Center provides a safe structured environment to meet the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of children from all across Ohio who have been abused, neglected and traumatized by the people they should be able to trust most. Children ages 6-18 live in spacious cottages and are provided with therapeutic, social, spiritual and educational opportunities designed to aid the child with the healing process, model for them how a healthy family functions, develop coping and life skills, and introduce them to Jesus Christ. In March of 1969, a serene 175-acre farm in Wooster became known as the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio (CCHO) when members of the independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ movement learned of a local boy with no safe place to call home. Initially licensed as a foster/group home serving three to five children at one time, CCHO now has five cottages on its campus that are home to as many as 36 at-risk kids at once, children who need to know that they are loved, they are valued and they are finally safe.
