Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society
Ways to help | Cat Enrichment Building & Cleaning / Cat SocializationThese activities are available in multiple shifts every day of the week! Cat Enrichment Building & Cleaning: The morning shift from 9AM-Noon is prior to the shelter opening. This shift is to help Kitty City Associates build cat enrichment toys and clean cages. Cat Socialization: There are 3 separate shifts for this: 12-2PM, 2-4PM, 4-6PM. During this shift you'd hangout with the cats and socialize. You would also greet customers in Kitty City and answer any questions they may have or direct them to someone who can. This shift is just to get the cats socialized with people and to have a fun to hanging out with a bunch of cute kitties!Dog Walking Team - Walk Shelter Dogs!Turn your love of dogs into action by helping care for our shelter dogs! The canines at Cincinnati Animal CARE Humane Society need your time, attention, and most importantly, LOVE until their fur-ever families come to adopt them! Dog Walking Team Volunteers will assist the Animal Care Team by providing our adoptable dogs with enrichment including walks, play time, and kongs. Teams meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-12pm and 12-2pm. Volunteers are oriented and trained to work with shelter dogs online prior to first shift.Dog Enrichment Building & LaundryThere will be 2 shifts for this opportunity. 9AM-11AM is the cleaning and prep shift so this shift would involve cleaning Kongs, doing laundry, and if there is time then stuffing Kongs. 12PM-2PM is the building shift so this involves stuffing Kongs and making other enrichment toys for dogs. Although this is not the most glamorous activity, this helps the dogs here at the shelter significantly! We provide each animal here at the shelter an enrichment toy everyday to help keep them sane. :) This is a great activity for someone who is looking to help make a difference for animals but also wants to remain safe during the Covid-19 Pandemic since the maximum number of people to sign up is 2 people. You can always recruit a friend to keep you company! |

About us | While the name is new, we’re not new to animal welfare and sheltering. Our team has wide-ranging experience in animal welfare, animal control, business operations and fundraising. Cincinnati Animal CARE is brought to you by the same lifesaving team that has been running the Clermont animal shelter (Clermont Animal CARE) for the last 2.5 years with record-breaking, lifesaving success. We are thrilled to be bringing our progressive, best-practice animal sheltering to Hamilton County. We believe that every animal deserves a chance at a live outcome, should be treated as an individual, and that lifesaving is a community ethic. |
