Ways to help | Discovery AttendantDiscovery Attendants assist the Guest Experience team by providing superior customer service from first impressions to farewells. Volunteers admit guests and CMC Members into each of Cincinnati Museum Center’s three main museums and featured exhibit spaces. Individuals must be outgoing, friendly and possess the ability to communicate with groups of all sizes and abilities. Accommodations can be made for those who cannot stand for long periods.Featured Exhibit VolunteerAs a volunteer, you'll be interacting with guests, answering content and directional questions, and ensuring the safety of artifacts. You'll work alongside staff to welcome and engage with guests in our temporary and traveling exhibits. Exhibits change regularly so there is always something exciting and new.Shows & Interpretation VolunteerDo you love to dress in period costumes? Are science stage-shows your jam? Does the thought of being on a stage float your boat? You'll work closely with our staff to deliver quality exhibit interpretations by giving context and a personal touch to the information presented. Behind-the-scenes help is welcome for those with costume repair and script-writing experience. **Volunteers must train as Museum Ambassadors before entering a track.Museum Ambassador Program (MAP)We're looking for a welcoming, informed, guest-oriented and engaging Museum Ambassador to make a difference in our visitors’ experience. Spend time across all our museums, from our late-Jurassic Galeamopus to our historical Public Landing or help our smallest guests in Little Sprouts Farm.Gallery Activities VolunteerLove sharing your knowledge of science, art and Cincinnati history to guests of all ages? You'll work alongside staff to deliver quality programs to families, adults and children of all ages. **Volunteers must train as Museum Ambassadors before entering a track.Holiday HelperMake a difference this holiday season! Assist the Guest Experience team by greeting guests in the Rotunda, admitting guests into museum spaces, and spreading holiday cheer to the many families that visit the Cincinnati Museum Center.Labs & Maker VolunteerAre you overflowing with creative ideas? Do you love bringing looks of awe and wonder to guests’ faces through hands-on activities? You'll facilitate open-ended, process-based experiences in our creative play lab KidSPACE, conduct experiments in our STEM lab and dive deep into historical Cincinnati makers in our History in the Making Classroom. You will work alongside our staff to take your talents in science, art and making to the next level with our guests. **Volunteers must train as Museum Ambassadors before entering a track.GreeterHelp our guests make the most out of every visit! Volunteer Greeters assist the Guest Experience team by welcoming guests, answering questions, and providing directions so that our guests can dive right in to the epic experience that awaits them. Individuals must be outgoing, friendly and possess the ability to communicate with groups of all sizes and abilities. Accommodations can be made for those who cannot stand for long periods. |

About us | Cincinnati Museum Center is a one-of-a-kind, multi-museum complex housed in Union Terminal, a historic Art Deco train station, and National Historic Landmark. Museum Center is the largest cultural institution in the city of Cincinnati, with more than 1.4 million visitors per year. Our permanent and temporary exhibits are supported and complemented by state-of-the-art collections and research facilities, the Geier Collections & Research Center, educational programs, professional development programs for teachers, day and overnight camps, public lectures and programs, tours of historic sites and community-wide cultural events. Museum Center’s collection encompasses more than 1.8 million artifacts, art works, and archives and is incorporated into our exhibition, research and education programs. |
