Ways to help | Saturday Clean-UpsFocus on a different community garden each session, to get those in need of it back in good shape. These opportunities are great for beginner gardeners as well as experienced.Dirt CrewOur dependable, amazing Dirt Crew volunteers are here every Wednesday morning from 9-11:30am.TreeforestationWe’ve kicked off a new project at the CGC: Treeforestation. We started this reforestation project to save and protect Cincinnati’s green spaces. We will begin by having a series of invasive removal workdays, and then will begin planting native trees. This is an ongoing project, and we could use your help!Community GardensWe can plug you in to work with the garden in your neighborhood, or, those with more availability and experience can join our new On-Call Garden Crew.Young Professional Green TeamThis group exists to create a community of beginner gardeners- to connect and educate young professionals about gardening and environmental conservation. |

How you help | With over 70 community gardens in the region, we have tons of opportunities available for interested volunteers. We also have a newer project, Treeforestation, which focuses on clearing Cincinnati's green spaces of invasive plants. We even have a volunteer group for young professionals, which meets monthly for volunteer events and happy hours. Reach out to us if you're interested! |

About us | The Civic Garden Center (CGC) is a non-profit horticultural resource. Founded in 1942, the CGC is the only organization of its kind in our region. We host classes, a horticultural library, several gardens for visitors to enjoy free of charge, the Green Learning Station and an outdoor compost classroom; the building and grounds are available for event and meeting rental. CGC has supported the development and continued success of over 50 community and children’s gardens throughout the city. Our outreach efforts include the Community Gardens, Youth Education and School Gardens programs. The CGC offers these programs at no cost to participants, thanks to the generosity of our donors, private and government grants and corporate sponsorships. |
