About us | For more than 40 years, our therapy horses have been helping people of all ages and with a variety of special needs and disabilities improve their physical and emotional well-being. Fieldstone Farm remains one of the largest and most respected therapeutic riding centers in the nation with approximately 1,000 students annually, 40 highly trained therapy horses, 250 weekly volunteers and 20 nationally certified instructors. Each year we collaborate with approximately 60 nonprofits and schools on educational and therapeutic programs. People of all ages with a variety of physical, emotional and cognitive challenges come to Fieldstone Farm for healing. Working with horses transforms their lives and those around them. People with autism and Down syndrome have said their first words after riding a horse. Adults with multiple sclerosis and children with neurological disorders have improved balance and increased muscle tone after riding. Some have even taken their first steps. Children from the inner-city and high school students with anxiety have gained confidence and become inspired to learn. Survivors of trauma, wounded military veterans and seniors with memory deficits have found comfort and hope from our horses. For everyone who touches our horses, no matter their age or ability, they discover a confidence-building experience that urges them to strive for more in their lives. |
