How you help Being a volunteer at Flying Horse Farms is a huge job. It requires endurance (we have plenty of coffee on hand). It requires mining the details to keep our campers safe (we provide the training). And, most importantly, it takes heart—to help provide the love and fun necessary to let kids with serious illnesses simply be kids again.
About us Flying Horse Farms serves children, teens, adolescents and young adults aged 8-21 who live with all types of cancer, facial differences, rheumatoid arthritis, rare diseases including cystic fibrosis, and disorders of the heart, lungs, blood, kidneys and gastrointestinal system. Many campers face co-occurring post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and other mental health illnesses as a result of their diagnoses and treatments. As a serious illness impacts an entire family, Flying Horse Farms also serves campers' siblings, parents, and caregivers.Swimming, boating, fishing, high ropes, archery, and arts and crafts are just the beginning of the adventure at Flying Horse Farms. Each activity is designed to ensure every camper can participate and feel a sense of pride, accomplishment and freedom.Flying Horse Farms is proud to have the support of nine children’s hospitals, including Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital and UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Campers receive first-rate care at our on-site health center, The WellNest, staffed 24/7 by medical professionals from children’s hospitals across Ohio and the Midwest.
