Ways to help

ReStore Volunteers

ReStore volunteers assist with sales, inventory, cleaning and stocking the sales floor and warehouse, loading and unloading donated items, and customer service. Please wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes or boots and clothing you don't mind getting dirty.

Build Site Volunteers

Our homes are built almost entirely by volunteers. You do not need to be a skilled construction worker to volunteer on our build sites. No matter your skill level, our Site Leaders are there to teach you everything you need to know to help us build homes for local families. All the equipment and safety gear is provided and no previous experience is necessary.

How you help Volunteers are the heart of HFHCCO, with around 500 people volunteering each year. HFHCCO's mission of eliminating substandard housing brings together individual and group volunteers from corporate, faith, educational, and community groups to ensure that everyone may live in safe, decent, and affordable housing. Churches, businesses, and individual families may volunteer for a Saturday build by contacting the ReStore. Work commences at 8AM; lunch is provided; and the day concludes at 3PM. HFHCCO is extremely blessed with many strong supporters, and we are thankful for each and every one of them.
About us Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. Since 1976, HFHI has built or repaired over 1 million homes. Today, HFHI is a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty and housing. In Champaign County, eleven homes have been built since 2007. HFHCCO became an official affiliate in March of 2003; our first home was completed in January of 2007. We have built eight homes in Urbana, two in Saint Paris, and one in Mechanicsburg. We were selected as a National Women Build site in 2015 and 2016. We are thankful for our many volunteers.
