Pet Therapy

Job Description/Purpose: To provide temporary animal companionship for residents of assisted living and senior centers, allowing the animals to socialize outside of the facility.

Foster Parent

Care for animals in your home that need a little extra care before they can go up for adoption. Typically, animals requiring foster care are too young, inured or sick to go up for adoption. Foster parents provide the much needed time and attention these special needs animals require.

Education Assistant

Cat Assistance Team

To help control overpopulation by humanely trapping stray or feral cats on scheduled days and then transporting them to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton to be spayed or neutered.

Pet Paw-parazzi

Purpose: To get great photographs of our animals up for adoption. This team of professional photographers and animal handlers do a variety of jobs that promote our pets. They take photos and videos of our animals in the building and even sometimes at our offsite locations and at events. Their wonderful work can be seen on our website, Petfinder, other websites, t.v., newspapers, brochures, etc.

Meowza Cat Boutique

Job Description/Purpose: To assist Meowza staff in day to day store operations, including cleaning cat cages, adoptions and assisting customers.

Canine Crew

This alleviates stress and gives the dogs much needed exercise thus increasing their chances of being adopted. It is also a great opportunity for teaching the dogs basic socialization skills.

Saved Trained Adopt Remain Together (START) Team

Job Description/Purpose: To teach basic obedience to an assigned shelter dog working with instructors at Dayton Dog Training Club, Inc. for success in new adoptive home and to decrease length of stay at the shelter.
