Long-Term Care Ombudsman Associate

Ombudsman Associates are volunteer advocates who provide a voice for the concerns of long-term care consumers who are living in their own homes, nursing homes or assisted living. Ombudsman volunteers: provide information to residents, family and staff about the Ombudsman program and resident rights; resolve uncomplicated complaints; work with Ombudsman staff to investigate and resolve more complicated complaints and issues; inform and support state and regional policy advocacy; and work with resident councils.

How you help Ombudsman Associates are volunteer advocates who provide a voice for the concerns of long-term care consumers who are living in their own homes, nursing homes or assisted living. Volunteers are one of the most valued resources of the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman.
About us Long Term Care Ombudsman (LTCO) is part of a national network of organizations that advocate for people who use long term care services. This includes consumers receiving care in facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living (also known as residential care) and adult care homes (small group living), and their own homes. We advocate, educate, and empower residents and their families/friends in long-term care; investigate and resolve complaints; and create a regular presence so that residents have a voice.
