Making Sense of Language Arts
Ways to help | Tutoring/MentoringIn one hour a week you can teach a kindergartner to read with Making Sense of Language Arts. You will be trained in our techniques, paired with a child. Then weekly, at a local school, you’ll be given a lesson plan, materials and the supervision to empower this child to learn to read and write. Making the difference at such a young age, changes the trajectory of his or her whole life forever! |

How you help | Tutoring/mentoring a child meets not only the needs of the child being served, but the desires of we who serve them. Year after year tutors share how much meaning tutoring has added to their lives. |

About us | For over twenty years we have taught hundreds of children to read, write and comprehend. All of the children who enter the program begin with below average language arts skills. Each year, 80-100% of the children have left the program with average or better language arts skills. The improvement in expressive ability and letter and word skills is significant, to very significant! Because literacy skills are often a determining factor in school and career success we change their outcomes for a lifetime. |
