About usThe Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage opened in October 2005, featuring two core exhibitions: The Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery and An American Story, which chronicles the immigrant experience, development of Cleveland, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Holocaust. Since then, the Museum has evolved as a Museum of diversity and inclusion that serves as an educational resource for Northeast Ohio. Through special exhibitions and public programs the Museum explores identity and celebrates culture while connecting the past to the present. Since opening, the Museum has welcomed over 400,000 visitors, including more than 125,000 K-12 students, 53% of whom have received admission and transportation subsidies based on economic need within their school district. A signature initiative of the Maltz Museum is the Stop the Hate: Youth Speak Out essay contest and Youth Sing Out song-writing contest, giving students in grades 6-12 across Northeast Ohio a platform to their experiences in standing up to bias and hatred in their schools and communities.
