Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Diocese of Cleveland
About us | The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP), Diocese of Cleveland is a local health and human services organization that uses a personalized approach to respond to the needs of Northeast Ohioans in crisis. Since its inception in 1865, its charitable programs have supported the most vulnerable members of the community struggling with the challenges of poverty. Face-to-face emergency help is provided through SVDP’s 2,500 members and volunteers within 61 participating parish groups and at its multiple hunger centers, who help the poor regardless of race, ethnicity or religious affiliation. This help is given directly where the need is and takes on many forms that include: financial help with rent and utilities; food and clothing; furniture; blankets for the homeless; and the purchase and distribution of school supplies to children. The Society is an advocate for those who are defenseless or voiceless, and always maintains the utmost confidentiality and dignity of those it serves. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the work of our dedicated volunteers, last fiscal year, SVDP positively impacted more than 212,000 people in need with nearly $9 million worth of assistance. |
