Our mission | To provide nutritious meals at a reasonable cost to those in Bedford, Bedford Hts., Oakwood Village and Walton Hills, who are unable to shop and/or prepare adequate meals for themselves, regardless of age. Southeast Clergy Meals on Wheels
About us | As an all volunteer 501(c)3 service organization, our 88 volunteers (many of which are seniors in their 70s, 80s & 90s) provide the personal attention Meals on Wheels is known for. We are the only home-delivered meal program in our area and currently serve 115 clients. Our Meals on Wheels home-delivered meal program may be called a hybrid. Opened in 1976, we partner with Maple Hts. Senior Center and Rose Center For Aging Well, to provide Older Americans Act Title 3 meals to 2/3rds of our clients. Our partners deal directly with WRAAA, and our volunteers serve as their delivery persons in our four suburbs. The remaining 1/3 are on waiting lists for the free meal program and/or are pay-as-you-go customers, the majority of which are low-income seniors that require us to subsidize the cost of their "community" meals or are low-income disabled under age 60. |
