You can also support us by holding a fundraiser or food drive! All of our money and food is privately donated, we do not receive any assistance form any government agency. Every little bit is appreciated. From the corner lemonade stand to large canned food drives, we cannot help those in need without your help. If you wish to support us via a fundraiser or food drive please reach out to us first to let us know. We can help advertise the event on our Facebook page and mailing list.

Food and Supplies Drop Off

Our doors are always open. Literally. On the Water Street side of the building, the door is always unlocked where you can drop off food and supplies. There is a refrigerator and shelves available inside for all your donations. If you are dropping off food from a caterer please make sure it is placed in the refrigerator.

About us Our history Many people have asked how the City of Troy is lucky enough to have a state of the art soup kitchen in its small, caring community. It really started with a kind heart, a big vision, and a thousand dollars. In early 1994, the Agape Church, located at the corner of S. Mulberry Street and Canal Street, was serving free meals Monday through Friday. Richard Steineman wanted to make sure that those in need also had access to free meals on the weekends. He approached the Saint Patrick Parish Council about the possibility of serving free weekend meals at the former childcare building on the church property. He presented a plan to serve weekend meals from 12:00 - 1:00, but the Parish Council was reluctant to take on a new ministry that would require church funds to operate.
