| About us | Wapak Loaves and Fishes began with a vision – one person’s belief that what we do matters. In December 1999, Vena Ryane had a desire to use her former restaurant, the Wapak Country Restaurant for a soup kitchen ministry. A committee was formed, and began meeting in February 2000. Volunteers and committee members refurbished the restaurant, and in July 2000, an open house was held. They served 30+ people on that evening. Today we are serving an average of 150 meals per week. Wapak Loaves & Fishes is now officially a 501(c)(3) tax exempt entity, and we are registered as a non-profit with the Ohio Attorney General’s office. Our mission remains the same as it was in 1999. We thank the committee, the churches, and the local organizations and businesses for their support of our Christian ministry of feeding God’s people since 1999. |
