Assisting WCA participantsAssist WCA artists who have both mental and physical disabilities. Enjoy working on craft projects such as painting, clay, jewelry, sewing, computers and other medium. Encourage artists while patiently helping them to follow instructions. Understand that the artists are more important than the productsSpecial Visiting Artist VolunteerCurrently, We Care Arts is calling for a community arts collaboration to benefit our clients and teaching staff called Visiting Artist Days. Beginning in February 2018, We Care Arts will host a visiting artist once monthly to teach a 3 hour class to our interested clients and staff. These local, known artists will volunteer their time and talent with the We Care Arts clients for one session.Gift ShopGreet and assist customers with purchases. Be an advocate for We Care Arts and share our mission with customers.Craft and Style ShowsGreet and assist customers with purchases. | About us | We Care Arts is a non-profit organization that helps developmentally disabled adults and youth achieve greater personal independence. Through a variety of art classes and experiences, we promote the artist's individuality, self esteem, community skills, ability to focus, life skills, responsibility, confidence and job skills. Through the creation and sale of their individually crafted items, artists are able to affirm their self worth, take steps back into the mainstream of society and receive a supplemental income. We Care Arts provides all training and materials to artists and a portion of the proceeds of all sales is returned to the artist. The remainder goes back to program funding. |
