About this event

Connect (virtually) with nonprofits that need your help as they navigate the uncertainty of the pandemic.

About this Event
With Covid-19’s impact, many organizations are looking to create a survival plan that addresses whatever will happen next, but are unsure where to start.

Here’s where you can help them using Cincinnati Cares’ HelpConnect platform.

We’ve taken the best of our matching technology and applied it so we can connect skilled volunteers like you with nonprofits looking to determine how to plan for a future that looks bright, cloudy, or somewhere in between. We’ve engaged an expert in the field to train both volunteers and nonprofits on the latest in scenario-planning, free of charge.

Scenario planning is a strategy that identifies emerging trends and potential disruptions that may affect a nonprofit and helps the nonprofit determine what to do given multiple potential scenarios.

Here’s the fun part: when you sign up, you’ll get a chance to connect with nonprofits who need help at a virtual HelpConnect Event to find a great match. Three 20-minute sessions will allow you to talk to multiple nonprofits and to see whose needs best fit your skills. Based on your conversations, you’ll be connected with the best nonprofit for your skillset. In the following eight weeks, you will work with a small volunteer team to develop scenario-based plans that will set your designated nonprofit on course for success, regardless of what the future holds.

Good to know:
You will attend training on scenario planning a few days prior to the event.
The training will be led by Dr. Emilie Socash, leadership & organizational psychologist, and founder of Empower Creative (www.empower-creative.com).

You will be matched with a nonprofit within days and get started right away helping that nonprofit.

You could be working with a small team of other volunteers to help bring different points of view to the planning.

After being matched, you should expect to put 8+ hours towards completing the scenario planning project.
