Pandemic taking toll on typical cookie sale outlets
This year, the cookie selling season was unexpectedly cut short by COVID-19. Our girls and troops rely on the Cookie Program – it is fundamental to supporting Girl Scout experiences and fueling their adventures. Whether it is a trip she will never forget or a service project that will change her community forever, or the opportunity to build a lifetime of memories at camp, you can help make this happen by supporting our Cookie Relief Fund! “Several troops, really, across the nation are stuck with an excess inventory of cookies that they were going to sell in front of Walmart and Kroger,” Christopher “CT” Todd told WCPO-TV. He said cookies are piling up, uneaten, in scouts’ garages and extra rooms. Todd and other business leaders are trying to get regional companies to step up and buy the excess inventory. Challenging times call for creative solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic is hitting businesses hard–both businesses like yours and cookie businesses like ours. But we can get through this if we work together! Demonstrate your community spirit by purchasing at least four cases (roughly $250) of Girl Scout Cookies from Girl Scouts in your neighborhood.
