Redwood directed to close childcare and adult day services provided to individuals with severe and multiple disabilities.

Redwood quietly shatters barriers to the inclusion of people living with disabilities.  We help children, youth, and adults with severe and multiple disabilities realize their full potential through a wide range of enriching educational, health, therapeutic, vocational and other programs.  Redwood empowers children and adults to flourish, prosper and achieve the quality of life they deserve.

Redwood has been closely monitoring the Federal and Commonwealth of Kentucky’s response to the highly contagious and potentially deadly COVID-19 virus.  Our primary concern is the health and safety of Redwood clients, staff, stakeholders and the Northern Kentucky community.

As of March 16, Kentucky’s Governor Beshear has ordered the closure of all childcare facilities in Kentucky.  On March 17, he added adult day programs to the closure order, both effective on Friday, March 20 at 5pm.  Redwood understands that this will bring hardships to many of our families, which is why we worked so hard to stay open.  Through this difficult time, we will work with our clients and staff as much as possible to provide support and information.

All childcare charges will cease this Friday upon closure.  Many other childcare facilities are charging fees to hold their child’s spot.  However, please be assured that Redwood will NOT be charging any additional fees.  As soon as the pandemic situation improves and the Governor’s order is lifted, Redwood will work hard to reopen as quickly as possible.  In the meantime, all children’s spots at Redwood will remain reserved.  Over the next several weeks, please check our website and Facebook page for updates.  We will also send out periodic emails with further information.

Working together we will get through this difficult time. Redwood will be ready to serve all our clients once the closure order is lifted.  We are very grateful for your understanding and support of our mission.
