SVDP thrift stores close, Neyer services suspended
As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, and to protect the health and safety of both our staff and neighbors, we have suspended face-to-face neighbor services within the Neyer Outreach Center.
As of March 19, all seven Thrift Stores have been closed — out of concern for the safety and well-being of staff and neighbors. This resulted in a significant number of hardworking employees losing their jobs. While SVDP is able to temporarily support them through this transition, many of them will face very uncertain times in the weeks ahead.
The Stores closing also means that there will be no Store profits, which help fund St. Vincent de Paul’s emergency assistance programs and no vouchers to provide free clothing, furniture, or beds to those in need.
We have also adjusted our service model, limiting the services provided at the Neyer Outreach Center to the following:
- Charitable Pharmacy — Medication for Charitable Pharmacy patients is being dispensed through the side door of the building. Please call 513-562-8841, ext. 267, for assistance.
- Catino Food Pantry – Pre-packed bags of food and personal care items based on family size are being distributed through the double doors in the back of the building. Please call 513-562-8850 for assistance.
- Rent and utility assistance, and birth certificate vouchers – For help with these areas, please call the Help Line at 513-421-0602. Be prepared to leave a clear message and to receive a return call.
Hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to noon (Food distribution begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and noon on Saturday.)

How you can help:
- Financial support — Many of our neighbors need help accessing basic necessities these days. Your donation will help provide medications, food and rent assistance for our neighbors impacted by COVID-19. Visit SVDPcincinnati.org/donate.
- Follow us and donate on Facebook — Social media surfing has increased, so while you’re flipping through Facebook, jump over to our donation page and help us reach—or surpass—our goal.
- Connect us to bulk food sources — Do you have access to large supplies of food that could be donated and help feed our neighbors now? Email Renee at [email protected].
- Choose an item to donate from our Amazon Wish List — Donate a jar of Jif or a pack of pasta, maybe some mac and cheese or Hamburger Helper. Our Amazon Wish List has what our neighbors need and lets you shop from the safety and comfort of your living room. Go to our Amazon Wish List.
- Donate to thrift stores once they reopen — Take advantage of your time at home by cleaning out your closets, basement, garage, kids’ rooms, attic, bedroom, living room, man cave, anywhere there are items you don’t need. Just wait until our stores reopen before calling to schedule a donation pick up or dropping off your items at one of our locations.
