There is so much work to be done “behind the scenes” in order to make WordPlay’s events and programs run smoothly. These opportunities cover a wide range of work, from physical to administrative. Volunteers may help us paint a new program space; print, fold and/or pack materials for an outreach event; or hang up flyers…

From open mic nights to Ride for Reading, WordPlay hosts several community events throughout the year. And the more people we have around to help, the better! Duties may include setting up/cleaning up; distributing flyers; greeting attendees and showing them where to go; serving food and drinks; and taking photos.

Certified in at least the 200 hour level. Curriculum and lesson plans are designed for each class, maximizing the amount of time for personalizing the practice to students’ needs.

Assistants need to be certified in at least the 200-hour level. It’s a great way to “find your voice” and decide if becoming a lead teacher for a session of classes is right for you.

Help racers swap wheels and get their cars back to the starting line for the next heat race.

Direct racers where to stop, help them out of their cars, and load cars onto the appropriate trailers.Please note that this is a physically active position. Volunteers will be required to move quickly and lift heavy cars. / Unload racers cars that are returned to Topside or the starting line from the finish line.

Assist staff with checking in teams as they arrive on race day. Help direct teams to the check-in area.
