Take a single day and share your expertise, profession and/or talent with young people. Some opportunities include career day speakers, job shadowing, and career conference judges.
Work with girls in grades 4 & 5 on social emotional skills and academics.
Host an activity, meal, training or workshop for our clients, write messages of hope to persons in recovery, landscape or help with site renovation projects. We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities.
281-CARE is a 24-hour telephone crisis intervention, information and referral service. A 40-hour training will be provided along with ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Training). Requirements: High School diploma or GED, background check, 5-10 hours per week (hours are flexible) and a three month commitment.
Each year on Father’s Day, Talbert House hosts this FREE event for dads and families to enjoy a day of games, entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, live music, sports activities, and more.
Build financial stability for families by helping them prepare and file their taxes at one of our free tax sites. Volunteers will receive training to meet one-on-one with families and file their return using tax software. Individuals can help on their own, or groups can adopt a tax site and volunteer together.
Share your skills by assisting residents overcoming trauma through the healing hands of gardening.
Volunteers answer phones and record information including the caller’s name, address and payment information during breaks in programming.
Volunteer makes phone calls to area restaurants to solicit food donations for volunteers to eat during their time in the studio.
