281-CARE is a 24-hour telephone crisis intervention, information and referral service. A 40-hour training will be provided along with ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Training). Requirements: High School diploma or GED, background check, 5-10 hours per week (hours are flexible) and a three month commitment.
Each year on Father’s Day, Talbert House hosts this FREE event for dads and families to enjoy a day of games, entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, live music, sports activities, and more.
Build financial stability for families by helping them prepare and file their taxes at one of our free tax sites. Volunteers will receive training to meet one-on-one with families and file their return using tax software. Individuals can help on their own, or groups can adopt a tax site and volunteer together.
Some assignments involve direct patient contact, such as visiting patients or delivering mail and flowers.
Some positions provide visitor assistance such as hosting patient families in surgical waiting or helping at our information desks.
There are opportunities to assist clinical staff for volunteers interested in healthcare careers.
