Tutors teach basic English language skills (reading and writing) to adults and out-of-school youth, age 18 and over. Legal immigrants are also taught English as a second language. Training required.

Our volunteers help run errands, read to patients and provide companionship, while others help handle administrative duties for our hospice staff. Volunteer opportunities include: patient care visits, pet visits, musician visits, general companionship, and administrative support.
We need help with community outreach, administrative needs, our annual walk, and other fun events. We have volunteer opportunities to suit all skills and abilities and time commitments.
You can make a difference in someone’s life by simply being present. You’ll provide support and companionship to patients and families by giving caregivers a short break.
Visit patients and families at home, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, inpatient hospice units. Pay a friendly visit; relieve a family caregiver for an afternoon out; accompany a patient to the beauty salon, grocery store or a social event; read aloud; listen to memories; walk the dog; be the high point of someone’s day.
Provide support in the office: filing, preparing mailings, computer input, answering the phones, special projects.
