Assistants need to be certified in at least the 200-hour level. It’s a great way to “find your voice” and decide if becoming a lead teacher for a session of classes is right for you.
We can engage volunteers to help serve the food, desserts, help members carry trays during lunch and help with any games or special activities that are included at our parties.
Do you have a special talent or skill that you would be interested in teaching others? Examples include crocheting, knitting, arts and crafts, educational/informative programs or talks, bingo calling, etc.
Wish Tree Volunteers assist with making ornaments, delivering ornaments, picking up gifts and delivering to center, wrapping gifts and assisting with delivery to Seniors.
Volunteers help collate various mailings at the center i.e. Newsletters, invitations, etc
Assist the front desk, and greet YMCA members when they walk in the door.
Help keep our facility grounds clean and presentable for the community.
Volunteer Coaches are needed for youth sports such as soccer, basketball, and baseball. Coaches and Buddies are also needed for the Miracle League, a baseball league for children with special needs. Character development and good sportsmanship are emphasized in all YMCA instructional youth sports.
Hospitality is essential. Greet, welcome, and assist members with tours of the Wellness Center; wipe down equipment as needed; check with members to ensure their needs are being met; update member communications such as signage.
Volunteer needs vary with each event, but typically involve volunteer and participant recruitment, registration, greeting, data entry and logistics, set up, and tear down.
