Meal Teams provide and serve breakfast, lunch or dinner at a regularly scheduled time (usually monthly) for residents and guests at our shelter, while engaging and building relationships with them.The meal can be prepared in our kitchen or brought in ready to serve.Responsibilities:- Provide a group leader who is the main contact and is responsible for recruiting, training and overseeing volunteers in the group- Provide and serve dinner for 110-120 people- Provide 6 to 20 volunteers each time- Commit to having volunteers sit and eat with our residents and guests, and to be intentional about building relationships.- Have dinner ready to serve at 7:00 pmWe provide plates, napkins, cups, silverware, pitchers for ice water and any cooking utensils you might need. All your group is responsible for is the meal.We recommend a hardy meal with a protein, a vegetable and one or two starch options. Our volunteer coordinator or our kitchen manager would be happy to give you recommendations.Availability is based on when there is an opening. Priority will be given to a group who is able to serve monthly. The group leader should submit an application and our volunteer coordinator will follow up with you.The suggested minimum age is 10 and every volunteer under 18 must be with an adult (18 or older) at all times.Minimum age: 10
