When you volunteer at Five Rivers MetroParks, you provide an important public service: You educate and engage park visitors in the protection and stewardship of the natural and cultural heritage of the Miami Valley. More important, you share your passion for nature with future generations.
Volunteers help plan, support and run park events.
The monitoring entails approximately 8 to 10 hours of time that can be scheduled at your convenience. B-W Greenway Conservation Easement Monitors are essential to carrying out our mission and we appreciate your participation.
Anyone who wants to help make a difference can be a volunteer. You don’t have to love being outdoors or have prior experience. The Park District offers training and a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit your interests and skill set.
Volunteers are needed for various events throughout the year for our FARE Program. Programs include Backyard Gardens, Community Gardens at Lincoln Hill, Mobile Food Pantry, Gardening and Nutrition Classes.
Responsible for helping and supporting classroom teachers. Volunteer would be needed daily for the duration of a camp session (5 days).
Responsible for greeting families and signing students in each morning, registering walk-ins, and collecting attendance. Camp session are 5 days and we would love if volunteers are available for most or all of a session.
Responsible for teaching topic and Bible lesson to a class of 10-15 students. Curriculum is provided and personal touches/tweaks are encouraged. Each classroom teacher will have at least one adult assistant. Volunteer would be needed daily for the duration of a camp session (5 days).
Responsible for preparing and cleaning up after breakfast and lunch for entire camp. Does not need to set menu. Camp sessions are 5 days and we would love for volunteers to be available for most or all of a session.
Wrap silverware. Clean and stock beverage station. Sweep and mop floors. Clean bathroom. Trash removal. Wash windows.
