Our very active field crews work on habitat restoration including invasive control, planting and seed collection. Other efforts include boardwalk and trail construction, repair, and maintenance. Volunteer areas include: cleaning/housekeeping, animal socialization, maintenance, landscaping/mowing, grooming/bathing, events/fundraising, and clinic. Volunteers assist the guests in getting famlies settled into their rooms, talk with them and console them, cook meals and garden. No matter what the guests or staff need, the volunteers are there to support them in every way possible.
Our largest event is our Annual Fly-in! We need lots of people to help with these events. Airplane savvy and not so airplane savvy people are needed to help with everything from working the entrance booth, helping with parking, working the information booths, etc! Come join us! It is a lot of fun!
Love to be outside digging in the flower beds? We can always use help keeping the weeds down and the flowers growing!
We have thousands of documents and photos in our archives and we need help getting them scanned, cataloged, and filed. We also need help with preparing our newsletter and mailings to our members.
From golf outings to penny-jar races, hundreds of local groups have already made a commitment to helping a wish child. Schools have held car washes, scout troops sponsored carnivals, community groups held pancake breakfasts and corporations have sponsored wish children through annual event sponsorship.
