We always need more volunteers at The Tenth Life. Even though we have a dedicated group of volunteers who do most of the everyday care for the cats, there is always a need for more. Occasionally, members of the staff need help to ensure a project, or a task gets done on time. In these instances, a volunteer makes a huge difference. If you have any clerical, typing, computer or maintenance skills let a staff member know. You will be added to a list and given advanced notice if needed

The center has a zero-turning radius mower and other lawn care equipment available. You can either volunteer to work in the yard by mowing, plant care, weeding (weed eating), pruning, etc. Just let a staff member know you’re interested. Mowing needs to be done at least once per week, as does weed eating.

On the 3rd Tuesday of every month the Dayton Food Bank come to the Fairborn Senior Center. We always need volunteers to help pass out food. The Food Bank is open 10:00am – 12:00pm, we ask volunteers to arrive at 9:30am to help.

On the 3rd Friday of the month the center has a bake sale. We always need folks to volunteer to make baked goods to be sold during the sale. The proceeds go to purchase an item(s) for the center. The Way and Means & Bake Sale Committees decide what the proceeds go for. Your time…

While we do have paid staff that work in the kitchen and can usually take care of food prep and creation; we may still need help. If you are interested in helping in the kitchen, please let a staff member know.

These volunteers simply ensure their activity is ready and to turn in sign-up sheets and collect activity fee to ensure it is given to the finance department.

The receptionist greets members and guests, makes and refills coffee, directs people to departments where they require help.
