The minimum commitment is 2 hours per week for 8-10 weeks. Coaches/Asst. Coaches/Volunteers work directly with the athletes to improve their skills in specific Special Olympics Sports.
Help with various Fund Raisers and/or be on committees (Fund Raising, Program, Marketing, Young Professionals Committee).
Play games, read books, do a variety of arts & crafts or supervise outdoor play.
Help with administrative projects, filing, answering phones, etc. (9am-5pm)
Prepare and serve dinner at the shelters Monday through Thursday in Fairmount or Bond Hill. Volunteers can cook dinner at home and heat it upon arrival or cook in our fully equipped kitchens.
Assist the front desk, and greet YMCA members when they walk in the door.
Help keep our facility grounds clean and presentable for the community.
Assist staff with our youth development program. This may include tutoring, mentoring, planning and leading activities or playing games with the students at our Joe Williams Family Center after school and summer programs.
Assist in registering clients for ESL classes, provide tutoring, practice and support. Some familiarity with Spanish would be great, but not mandatory.
Assist development team with graphic design, mailings, filing, data entry and event planning activities.
