Volunteers are needed to serve on many different committees. Interest areas include financial development, marketing, safety and Christian emphasis.
Volunteers are needed to assist in all activity levels and age ranges, from nursery care and teen programs to coaches and referees for youth sports.
Help coordinate an event, assist with corporate outreach, volunteer for fundraising, and attend group meetings.
Assist with maintenance for our house including landscaping and repairs.
Assist with data entry, mailings and general clerical including greeting and directing customers and answering phones in the development office or at the front desk during open hours.
Volunteers interact with residents in the hope of providing support, encouragement and informal mentoring. Volunteers become a temporary “community net” while people are working through the matters that caused them to experience homelessness. The staff members of the Timothy House also rely on volunteers to provide practical assistance in the daily operation of the house.
Working with the Development Director help promote and organize a live Auction fundraising event in the spring of the year. Write newsletter articles, blog entries, and/or press releases covering Rural Action programs and local restoration and sustainable development news. Assist the Media Team with newsletter and e-newsletter production, as well as editing, as needed. Attend Rural Action events to cover stories. Projects are flexible, based on volunteers’ interests and experience; special projects are welcomed.
Sort through and organize historical Rural Action/AOPIC photos and publications; maintain the current digital photo database; organize and maintain the Rural Action reference library; and develop new systems for preserving important materials. Time estimate: prefer commitment of 3 months, flexible during office hours 9-5, M-F at the Kuhre Center for Rural Renewal in Trimble, OH.
