Whether you participate with the First Mad River Light Artillery with cannon demonstrations, or enjoy battlefield re-enactments, our group of volunteers are always at the ready!

Do you have a special gift of woodworking, restoring historical properties, or general interest in working with others on rewarding projects? We have a great group that appreciates an extra set of hands.

Historical education is emphasized throughout all of our events, and most specifically through our Speaker Series. Volunteers with an area of expertise to share are always appreciated.

In addition, USS offers opportunities for service and enrichment through the RSVP – Retired and Senior Volunteer Program – for seniors aged 55 and better. RSVP is a part of AmeriCorp Seniors. RSVP helps seniors find volunteer opportunities with non-profits and government agencies in Clark County.

USS has a wide variety of challenging volunteer opportunities for all ages. Some volunteers assist in administrative duties, while others provide hands-on services. Opportunities are matched to a volunteer’s skills and interests.

Volunteers work with local teachers to provide student tours of local historic sites and museums, classroom visits, and special presentations. The Auglaize County Historical Society also provides educational opportunities for educators themselves, such as teacher institutes.

Volunteers will greet, guide, and offer assistance to patients, visitors, and staff on nursing units and throughout the hospital. Volunteers may assist discharging patients, utilizing wheelchair, escort assistance, and rounding patient rooms and patient areas.
