Purpose: To get great photographs of our animals up for adoption. This team of professional photographers and animal handlers do a variety of jobs that promote our pets. They take photos and videos of our animals in the building and even sometimes at our offsite locations and at events. Their wonderful work can be seen…
Clean cat cages and dog kennels on an on-going or on-call basis. Provide fresh bedding, toys, water and food to the animals. Observe behavior and health and alerts the staff to any issues which may affect the animal’s adoptability.
Volunteers interact with residents in the hope of providing support, encouragement and informal mentoring. Volunteers become a temporary “community net” while people are working through the matters that caused them to experience homelessness. The staff members of the Timothy House also rely on volunteers to provide practical assistance in the daily operation of the house.
Write newsletter articles, blog entries, and/or press releases covering Rural Action programs and local restoration and sustainable development news. Assist the Media Team with newsletter and e-newsletter production, as well as editing, as needed. Attend Rural Action events to cover stories. Projects are flexible, based on volunteers’ interests and experience; special projects are welcomed.
Photograph Rural Action events and programming; help compile a digital database of striking images for use in multimedia presentations, print publications and marketing tools, and on the web. Special projects, such as photo essays, are encouraged.
