COVID-19 sidelined the Kids’ Book Bank and shuttered us for more than 6 weeks. Most of our partners have also been closed, which means books have not been getting to kids who desparately need them right now.
Studies show kids in low-income communities lose up to 3 months of learning during the summer months when they are out of school. COVID-19 has created an even longer summer – as much as 6 months out of school—meaning even greater learning loss.
The good news: we’re reopening on June 1! Help us jumpstart our summer distribution, meeting kids where they are with the books they need to help get back on track academically.
