Literacy Network uses chamber’s restart kit
The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Procter & Gamble Co., CVG and Brain Brew Custom Bourbon at Eureka! Ranch are helping businesses resume safe operations by providing free RESTART Kits that include with sanitizer, surface disinfectant and face coverings.
Chamber member Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati was among the first to pick up their kit.
The Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati serves the community by championing the development of literacy in individuals, families, workplaces & schools by raising awareness, improving access, and serving as a catalyst for literacy efforts.
Although in-person classes at their education facilities and one-on-one tutoring have been temporarily halted, the Literacy Network team has been diligently working with partners to enhance book access and improve reading outcomes in safe and strategic ways.
This included providing summer learning packs at the Summer Pack Book Distribution event at Resurrection School in Price Hill Friday, May 15, where they utilized the RESTART Kit supplies.
The team has also been working to increase book access through their network of Little Free Libraries and community partners.
“We continue to monitor developments from the CDC, Cincinnati Public Schools, and others as we develop our plan to head back to the office and before volunteers can begin tutoring and teaching again.,” said Michelle Otten Guenther, President of the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati. “We are committed to promoting literacy and to the safety of our students, volunteers, and staff. The supplies in the RESTART Kits will enable us to focus on our mission. Thank you for providing these so we can do just that!”
