How you help | What started out as a simple after school community center-like program sharing pizza, board games and conversations about life struggles with youth in Price Hill—has developed into a deeply rooted, organic and individually-focused “center of community”.Today, BLOC has 40 staff, 21 programs and six social enterprise businesses that serve as job skills and training sites among 40 properties throughout Cincinnati’s West Side. We’ve served thousands of youth and families fighting community, social and personal battles through programs to provide: mental health & substance abuse counseling, combat sex trafficking, provide Arts, mentoring & after schools programming, a boys/girls home, jail ministries, safe housing for women, sports performance training, equine-therapy & farming, and prevention programs for girls. |

About us | The heart of BLOC Ministries centers on building relationships with our neighbors and sharing hope in brokenness. We work one-to-one with children & students, women, men, and families to break negative cycles in their lives – poverty, addiction, crime, violence, homelessness, sex trafficking, abuse, school failure, joblessness, insufficient life skills, and hopelessness. BLOC stands for 'Believing (and) Living One Christ" - we are hope-builders and change-bringers through Christ. We take great pride in sharing that “We Are A Movement, Not An Institution” and we are recognized as a renowned organization in that all of our programs’ staff and leaders live where we serve. That’s right! We live, work, and play in the very same neighborhoods where we serve our neighbors through programs and services that impact the community and change lives. BLOC Ministries owns over 40 properties, many of which include free housing for our staff who lead these important streets, faith, and community programs. They live where they serve! We are in the trenches for the long haul 24/7. This is our life. These are our neighbors. We do laundry, grocery shopping, and babysitting for each other. We live, laugh, pray, and cry in shared responsibility. We treat those we serve no less than we treat our own families. We strive to be Christ’s hope in brokenness. We are BLOC. |
